Dishin' in the Dark

It's a rainy night in Kansas City...hubby is at our "old" house, doing some work...daughter is in bed...and it's just me and the soon-to-be 17-year old son...

...a good night to have a heart to heart conversation - about life, marriage, sex - all of those deep, deep topics that somehow don't come up except for very rare moments...

...We sat on the sofa...listening to the rain...in the dark...and just talked. Talked about relationships, mainly - and it was good.

Sometimes, it's nice to just turn off the T.V.... sit in the dark... and talk. With the kids. One on one.

What a wonderful evening it was tonight in our house.

Peace.

Nice! My oldest and I are doing exactly that today. I am pawning the other two off on friends so just she and I can have some time. We need it, the changes are happening too fast for me to keep up!

I had to giggle @ your Disney remark on my blog. I thought about scheduling a few temper tantrums, simply so I could tell them that no, the appropriate time for a tantrum is at 2:40 pm. Having one at 11:30 am is simply not acceptable. :-P

I hope y'all have a fabulous time! :D

Melanie, if you read today's post (The Geek Takes on the Mouse" - you'll see my itinerary - but dang, I didn't think about scheduling temper tantrums! Too funny!

We run around with our kids from school, and sports, it's nice to stop and talk from time to time.

That is awesome. To be able to talk to a 17 year old is a feet in itself!
