Black Friday Blues

Black Friday shopping today? Uh, no thanks. Just the thought of fighting the traffic, wrestling over parking spaces, doing my best take-down moves to grab merchandise, and then standing....more standing...and even more standing in a check-out line - makes me want to run to the kitchen and gouge myself with the turkey wishbone.

Give me Cyber Monday any day. Still in my flannel pajamas, with a cup of hot cocoa in my hand, I can sit on my comfortable sofa with my handy-dandy laptop in hand - and leisurely shop the best deals online. And have my friendly UPS guy deliver the goodies right to my front door. Ahhhh.....bliss.

So, today - no shopping for me. Today, we move. Part 2. The "rest of the stuff" comes over today. My goal is to be unpacked & decorated for Christmas by Sunday night - so that on Monday?

I'll be shopping. In my little cabin on the lake.

Peace.

I'm with you on this 100%. Tomorrow I'll go out for a parade. Next week I'll order my gifts online and have them shipped direct. I don't see joining the seething masses boiling over with Black Friday Angst at the mall. As a matter of fact, I'm only going to the mall once this month: to buy bras.... and then only because I HAVE to. Usually you won't see me anywhere NEAR a mall between Thanksgiving and New Years.

I sat on my couch watching Hugh Jackman jump naked into a water fall. Later, I might order a pizza. Ahhhhh. Good times. And NO shopping.

Kate: Ugh - now you've reminded me that I need to buy bras, too - maybe the UPS guy will deliver those, too?

AJ: OMG - I missed Hugh jumping naked into a waterfall?! Now, THAT sounds like a Black Friday to remember!

I'm so glad I have support in my boycott of the mall on Black Friday - what a zoo!

Thanks for visiting today!

I know a woman that was planning to get up at 3 AM and go with her daughter to Black Friday and NOT buy anything. They just love the experience. That's what she said to me. I think she's insane!

well, i had to venture out in it because my son was home from college and wanted to go but we most definitely did not go in the morning...we waited until afternoon. and guess what? the lines were still long, traffic was still heavy, and people were still rude. never again.
