A Busier Summer Than I Planned?

Uh oh.

This year's hurricane season is supposed to be a "doozy" - or, in other words, "worse than normal." Those are the latest predictions coming from the National Weather Service.

As a Red Cross volunteer, those words are ominous...

As a Red Cross volunteer, those words mean that I should probably start gathering my supplies and equipment out from the basement; blow the dust off; and get it all organized.

As a Red Cross volunteer, those words mean that I may have a busier-than-normal summer and perhaps shouldn't plan too many vacations. Dang it.

I hope they're wrong. I pray they're wrong.

I guess we'll see.

But...in the meantime...I'm getting ready. And if you live in a hurricane-prone area, I hope you're getting ready.

Peace.

Wow, I already thought they had a wild summer last year. Our plans are to be in Orlando in mid July. Sure hope things change!

Oh no! That's a scary thought. I hope and pray that they are wrong. We don't get many hurricanes in our area, but we CAN and we get the remnants of it! I should be getting ready too!

I would like to hear more about what you do. That is something that I always thought I would like to do. I can't always be ready to go at the drop of a hat though. More info, how interesting.

Terri & Bob: Have fun in Orlando; that's where we were 2 weeks ago - along with 2 million other Spring Break crazies.

Diva Ma: Yes, the time to be prepared is now - before it comes!

Cathy: Not a problem...I can do a future post about Red Cross volunteering...in the meantime, you can go to my labels on the right-hand side and find Red Cross postings from the past.

Thanks, all, for stopping by my blog - and have a blessed day!

Hello to you, Her Highness of the Middle Age. I noted that you became a follower of my blog. I am honored to have such royalty gracing my web site by taking time to "toon" in with any kind of regularity. Thank you.

Good luck on the hurricane season. I saw the report. It looks bad. Thank you for volunteering, and God bless you and the Red Cross.
